Today, The Houghton Garden has become a gathering place for the neighborhood. As Kate Nimich writes, "Eight years ago I brought home a two-month-old miniature Schnauzer named Greta. That's when I really began to appreciate our neighborhood. Puppies need lots of walking and our daily trips took us further and further afield. Before long, we found the Houghton Garden that has since become our favorite "Green Community Center". Over the years we've met many people who became waling partners and close friends. Michele was one of the first of our friends. Swapping chiropractor stories soon evolved into discussing maintenance plans and refurbishment dreams for the garden. With Greta, I see Shelley almost every day and admire her photographs of this glorious, hidden landscape as it changes from season to season."
